1. Education from the Industry's Best
We’re bringing a rock star lineup to the Sessions stage with some of the best and brightest in the beauty industry! Here’s just a sneak peek at some of the key takeaways you can expect to gather from the Sessions educators:
- Nina Kovner (Passion Squared): Nina will teach how to build your brand, establish a loyal clientele, and clearly identify your brand purpose and value (and deliver on your promise).
- Luis Alvarez, Nicole Gary, and Ajua Mason (Aquage, BaBylissPro, Rusk, Barberology): Learn how to cut diffusion within structure – and make styling effortless – from Luis. Nicole will focus on how to create the ultimate form of confidence and change for any client by enhancing or transforming texture, and Ajua will demonstrate the art of shape, balance, and texture with dress work.
- Sam Villa and Veronica Ridge (Sam Villa Brand and Redken): Elevate your business by implementing simple strategies from behind the chair. Sam and Veronica will share some of their tried and true business practices, in addition to teaching new haircuts, color placements and techniques, and finishing tricks.
- Corey Bakon and Fernie Andong (Hattori Hanzo Shears): Corey and Fernie will cover men’s grooming techniques, discuss how to retain current clientele and new avenues for growth, and expand on social media trends.
2. Learn How to Leverage Sola Programs to Increase Business
Jennie Wolff, Sola’s VP of Marketing and Education, will guide you through various ways to market your business, define your target audience, increase your reach, and lean into Sola programs to help elevate your salon business. She will introduce you to an integrated marketing approach, and help you identify which channels are best for your business.
3. Additional Education Included in Your Ticket
For all early arrivals, we’ve added a cutting class on Sunday with Hattori Hanzo Shears from 4-6pm. And if you’re a MUA or stylist who wants to learn more about makeup application, Muse Beauty is hosting a class Monday afternoon during the hair show. You’ll learn how to implement quick & easy color correction to the face; blush, eye, and lip application utilizing one product; and mistake proof color matching for touchups.
4. Vendor Expo
Come ready to learn more about our awesome event partners in our vendor expo – and shop(!) – where we have representatives from OPI, Platinum Seamless, Hattori Hanzo Shears, SolaGenius, MOP, abba, Redken, Sam Villa, Aquage, BaBylissPro, Rusk, Barberology, ColorDesign, and TruStar.
5. Networking Opportunities
The Sola Sessions is intimate, which provides a unique opportunity to ask questions to stage presenters, snap selfies with artists, and get up close and personal with some of the biggest names in the beauty industry. As Danielle Green commented after our Sola Sessions in Orange County, “I got to eat lunch right next to Nina Kovner of Passion Squared. A dream come true!!”
6. Community
At past Sola Sessions, we’ve had Sola professionals from 20 states represented! The Sessions is the perfect place to tap into our fabulous community of movers and shakers. Take it from Jen Charles, who attended the Sessions in D.C: “It was so inspiring to be around like-minded individuals. Even though I handle my own business, I don’t feel alone and feel very much part of a community. Sola is so much more than I could have imagined!”
7. SWAG Bag
Not only will you leave the Sola Sessions equipped to run your Sola like a boss, you’ll walk out with a swag bag overflowing with awesome gifts! Our event partners are feeling extra generous for the West Palm Beach Sessions event – get ready to go home with sample & full size products, Sola swag, discounts on shears, coupons for extensions, nail polish, makeup testers, and so much more.
8. Prizes & Giveaways
The free goodies don’t stop with the swag bag! Throughout the day, we’ll award attendees with giveaways from brands and artists. Past giveaways have included a free shear, a free week of rent, product packages, makeup kits, SolaGenius discounts, salon tools, and much more!
The Sessions is a full day event, which means we’ve included a networking lunch and cocktail reception in your ticket (don’t forget about the free drink included in your program)! We take pride in the intimate atmosphere of the Sessions, and the lunch and reception provide the perfect environment for networking with artists and fellow Sola pros. Here’s what Holly Santelli, who attended the very first Sessions in Denver, had to say: “The Sola Sessions was definitely the best education experience of that type that I’ve had in my 25 years in the biz. Never before have I been able to meet and mingle with the stage artists like that. It was simply amazing!”
10. West Palm Beach
Ready to make a weekend out of the Sessions? No better place than West Palm Beach to arrive a day or two early and explore all that the city has to offer! We all know that West Palm Beach is a world-class destination for travelers seeking sunshine, palm trees, and ocean, but the city is also a shopper and foody paradise! Head to Worth Avenue and browse some of the city’s trendiest shops and restaurants. If you’re more interested in live music, then you can’t miss Guanabanas for cocktails, seafood, and live music on the water. And if you’re an ocean enthusiast and want to explore the coral reefs and marine life, then scuba diving and snorkeling are calling your name.
