At Sola, we are a community of dreamers. The concept of Sola sprouted from a dream to create a better opportunity for independent beauty professionals to thrive on their own terms. Growing a community of over 14,000 Solapreneurs is more than a dream come true for us. Every time a new salon is opened and another beauty professional has the chance to live the life they love, another dream takes flight. 

Everyone embarks on their salon ownership journey with a different dream, and that’s the beauty of Sola. So whether that’s creating your own brand, or doubling your revenue, or being a #MomBoss, crushing it in the salon 3 days a week and staying home with the kids for 4, when you work for yourself and have the freedom to mold your future however you dream it, there is unlimited opportunity to grow in ways you never knew were possible. 

We say, “As big as you can dream, you can do it at Sola.” But we wanted to hear from our community to know specifically how Sola has helped them dream bigger and reach their goals. So we asked!

What were your dreams when you first came to Sola? 

“To go full time as a hairstylist and quit my other full time job. And I did just that 2 weeks ago!!” - Samantha Allred (@hairandmakeupbysam) Fort Wayne, IN

“Creating a space I was proud of and stood behind!” - Elizabeth Harper (@elizabeth_the_stylist) Denver, CO

Heather Moreno (@morenohairdesign), owner of Moreno Hair Design in Redwood City, California, first dreamed “to have my clients in a professional environment.”  Heather shared she "will be celebrating 5 years with my Sola this year and it was the best decision I ever made.” 

“To live my dreams., on my terms!” - Tammy Muniz (@rouge22salon) Chattanooga, TN

Taylour Gonzales (@hairbyt.anngee_) has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2014, and by age 19, she was already working in a salon. Once she became a salon owner at Sola, her dream was “to be an independent business owner while building my brand.” Taylour is located in San Diego, California and specializes in natural hair care and styles, weaves, and silk presses. 

Sola has helped Taylour achieve her dreams. “I now have the freedom to make my own schedule and control my environment!” 

Bianca DeSantis (@b.rosestudio) from Chicago, IL had the dream, “To finally break the toxic cycle of overworking myself, and "To finally feel like I’m enough in the industry." After coming to Sola she now says she feels "more confident in my work and in myself as a stylist! I am able to be creative in my own space which helps me grow and expand every day!”

“To create my own atmosphere” - Melody Skenes (@melody.c.beauty) Jacksonville, FL

“To build my brand” - Lindsey DeMith (@ldemith) Palm Harbor, FL

Asia Keefer (@asiagivesglam)  is part owner of Muse Salon in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her dream when she first came to Sola was “to work in a space where no one could stop me from being an aspiring beam of light.” 

It is safe to say that after starting at Sola, Asia has achieved that dream. “I finally have a space where I am my best self, giving my best self, and creating my best.”

Melanie Walker (@melaniewalkerhair) is the owner of Melanie Walker Hair Studio in Savannah, Georgia. When starting at Sola, “I dreamed of having complete and total creative freedom that would fuel the artist in me.” Melanie does not have any regrets since starting at Sola. “Sola empowered me to step out of my comfort zone and I haven’t looked back since!” 

“Set my own schedule and taylor my space to my clientele” - Sion Gergov (@mycurlystylist) Orem, UT
