Make Them Boo-tiful

Crunching leaves, spiced aromas, and a crisp breeze are just the beginning of the most enchanting time of the year. But before you get too cozy, don’t forget about the little monsters and wicked witches that need your services to cast their spells. You are notoriously creative, and Halloween may arguably be the best holiday to really show off your skills. Seriously, how many times a year do you get asked to create a sky-high beehive in electric blue? Here are a few ways you can make the most of all the toil and trouble.
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
Whether you prefer graveyard glam or an autumn orchard, a little bit can go a long way. Try these fun and easy decorating ideas: • Banners, and labels, and signs-OH MY! Check out these 150 free printable decorations: http://www.craftionary.net/2012/08/150-best-halloween-ideasfree-printables.html
• Create a spooky antique mirror effect by spraying the edges with hairspray and dusting them with baby powder.
• Waiting for an excuse to drag your old mannequin head off the shelf in the garage?
Nothing says Chamber of Horrors like a headless hunter!
• Hang plastic spiders, paper bats, or falling leaves at various lengths from the ceiling using fishing line and a little bit of tape.
• Polka dots and chevron painted patterns are a trendy way to transition pumpkins from Halloween into Thanksgiving.

Give Them Something Good To Eat
Your spooky space is limited so make the most of it!
• Create a colorful candy buffet in apothecary jars and use rubber gloves as goodie bags.
• Fill mason jars with candy corn and other sweet treats: http://cherishedbliss.com/candy-filled-mason-jars/
• Hollow out a pumpkin and place a bowl inside to use it as a candy cauldron.
• Wrap a black feather boa around the base of a cake stand for your favorite pumpkin-flavored pastries.
• Stock your mini fridge with brightly colored Bug Juice or a Bottle of Boos. Use printed labels for complimentary beverages like Wolfsbane or Snail Serum.
If You’ve Got It-Haunt It
Halloween falls on a Friday this year, so you can expect a mad dash of hair and makeup appointments ahead of the weekend rush. Whether you’re primping Halloween hotties or darling pun’kins, give yourself plenty of time for spellbinding inspiration.
• Build a ghoul squad with your favorite stylists to include hair, makeup, and nails. Grab friends from down the hall and make Sola Salon Studios a one-stop-Halloween-shop! Tag teaming allows for more efficient scheduling.
• Ask your clients to send you their photo inspirations far in advance so you have time to plan, research, and practice any techniques you may be unfamiliar with. YouTube is a treasure trove of tutorials.
• Make a list and stock up on supplies you’ll need for the saints and sinners on the schedule: glitter and hair chalk for your Katie Perry lookalike, semi-permanent dye for Poison Ivy, pipe cleaners for a hair-raising Cindy Lou Who, and wire hangers for a thick and heavy haired Pippi Longstocking.
Cast Your Spell
Drive traffic by conjuring the mischief and mayhem of All Hallows Eve.
• Throw in free or discounted tickets to a pumpkin patch, festival, or a corn maze.
• Hold social media contests like Scariest Costume or Monster Mash Karaoke Challenge; winner gets a free post-Halloween service.
• Offer specials like facials to rejuvenate post-Halloween makeup skin, hair masks to refresh overly teased tresses, and holiday nail polish changes.
Howl At The Moon
It may be crazy and chaotic at times, but above all it should be fun! Be sure to soak up all the giggles and looks of admiration when your masterpieces are complete. Eat, drink, and be scary! Happy Halloween!
