Spa-lendid Mother's Day Promotions image

In the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day, many of your clients will be digging deep, thinking of ways to make their mothers, grandmothers, wives and any other ladies in their life feel extra special. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to create and market mama-friendly packages for services at your salon studio. Who doesn’t love to get pampered? According to CNN, American’s spend more than $18 billion on gifts for Mother’s Day each year…are you doing everything you can to get in on the action?

Amber Pinkham, owner of EVOLved Color Studio at the Sola Salon Studios in Southdale Shopping Plaza, created two special packages to treat mom at a great price. The first is the $50 Mother’s Day Blow Out which includes shampoo, conditioning treatment, blow dry, iron finish and an eyebrow wax. The second option is the $85 Mother’s Day Color Me Up, which includes single root color, conditioning treatment, blow dry, iron finish and an eyebrow wax. Moms may also add a haircut to either package for $20, or swap a different facial wax in place of the eyebrow wax. Plus, each mom who comes in gets a beautiful red rose. “I picked these services because I thought they were basic services that many could benefit from,” Amber explained. “Promotions are a great way to promote your name and get new people to try your salon for the first time.”

Jenn Lunt, owner of Life's A Beach at the Sola Salon Studios in Greeley, CO, is offering a a Mother’s Day Special the week leading up to Mother's Day. “My moms will receive a relaxing Shampoo, Conditioning Treatment, Cut, Blow dry and Style, plus a little goody bag for $50. Color is also available for an additional price.”

5 Mother’s Day Promo Ideas Make It Special

What better chance to offer some truly decadent and pampering services than Mother’s Day? Moms deserve the very best, so now’s the time to pull out all the stops. Add a limited time facial or deep conditioning hair masque to your menu, or incorporate little extras into your clients’ services – like neck and shoulder massages or stress relief hand treatments.

Make It a Mother & Daughter Date

Mother’s Day is all about spending time with mom and letting her know how special she is, right? Offer a two-for-one package and invite your client to bring mom in for a little QT and relaxation. It will mean more to mom than just getting a fabulous blowout or a perfect manicure. Part of the gift is also the experience of spending time together and making memories. What more could mom want?

Make It Easy

Mother’s Day gifts are most often purchased by spouses and children, so make it easy on them to put together a gift that mom will love! Have specially-designed gift certificates, and offer a variety of Mother’s Day cards to put them in. Or include a bouquet of flowers along with a special Mother’s Day promotion so the gift-giver only needs to go to one place for all his or her gifting needs. Extra little touches go a long way. Also, be sure to email your customers and post on Facebook describing your special offers and reminding everyone that Mother’s Day is right around the corner.

Partner Up

Collaborating with a local business or another studio owner from down the hall is always a great way to expand your potential customer base. Consider partnering with a local photographer to tap into the emotional side of the holiday, and offer mom a gift she’ll never forget. Put together a package that combines salon services with a certificate for a family portrait. What mother wouldn’t love a fresh hairstyle (or other salon service) and a beautiful, professional photo of her family? Or talk to a restaurant next door and create a package such as a Mother/Daughter mani-pedi with a lunch for two.

Give a Little Gift

Assemble a gift basket with a few of your favorite retail products and tie together with cellophane and flowers. Your guests will love leaving your salon with a tangible gift that they can give mom. Better yet, have all the materials available in your studio and allow your client to choose the products they love most; assemble a unique gift, just for them! Another option is to give a little trinket such as a lip gloss or nail polish when your client purchases a gift certificate. Make sure to allow your guests enough time to take advantage of your unique and special promotions – now is the perfect time to create those packages and communicate them with your clientele. Promote your Mother’s Day gift baskets and gift certificates on social media, your website, your e-newsletter and make your offerings obvious in your salon studio. When Mother’s Day is one week out, don’t forget about the last minute shoppers! Your clients will love you for making their life a little bit easier and their mothers and grandmothers are sure to appreciate the gift of beauty, rest and relaxation.
