Part of the job description of a busy, successful stylist is being on your feet day in and day out. Not every shoe is up for this task and unfortunately, sometimes the very cutest ones are also the most painful. Solid, versatile shoes are always a smart closet investment. We all want to look our best and not only is fashion a unique way to express yourself, looking put together and stylish is also a fantastic impression to make on your clients. Listed below are five quality pairs of shoes which don’t sacrifice style for comfort!
1. Dr. Scholl's Donovan Bootie - $107.95
Stylish shoes made by a company which specializes in feet comfort and support is usually a pretty safe bet. These Dr. Scholl's booties are a chic, versatile option to add into your work wardrobe, and they come in two color options: black and tan. The 2 1/2 inch chunky heel will give you just a bit of height but won't leave you in pain at the end of the day. If you're worried about the suede material while working, spray some Scotchgard to protect them.
2. Keds Boyfriend Leather Oxford - $79.95
No longer just plain canvas sneakers, Keds now come in a variety of styles including these cute brown leather oxfords which are perfect for a back to school look for the fall. Still a sneaker company at heart, these oxfords offer great arch support with a cushioned footbed.
3. Aetrex Erica Ballet Flat - $99.95
Available in a wide range of colors, these versatile ballet flats take a traditionally unsupportive shoe style to a whole new level. They come with a built in (but removable) Lynco® orthotic footbed and memory foam cushioning to support your every step around the salon. They’re also equipped with Aegis® anti-bacterial technology to help combat fungus, bacteria and foot odor and Dri-Lex® fabric lining to cut down on foot moisture.
4. Madewell Otis Boot - $218
Madewell constantly carries a chic, fantastic selection of boots and these Otis boots are no exception. Made of genuine leather, they come in black and tan and give just a hint of a chic equestrian look. Flats are always going to be just a bit more comfortable when you’re standing on your feet all day and these boots don’t sacrifice any style for comfort. They'll look just as good paired with jeans as they will with skirts and dresses. Slightly higher on the price side but worth the investment for style, quality and versatility.
5. Cole Haan ‘Air Tali’ Wedge Pump - $198
Part of Cole Haan’s Nike Air collection, this zebra print wedge pump comes with patented Nike Air technology, which is a fancy way of saying the footbed has alot of cushion and is very comfortable. With a lightweight polyurethane mid-sole and rubber outsole, the shoe is also waterproof and can withstand any tough salon messes. With a 1 1/2 inch wedge, you’ll get the height boost and look of an elongated leg without having to stand all day in heels. Can you add to this list? What shoes can you last all day in at the salon?
