About Miki Chung
When potential clients meet Miki in person, they often express surprise at how a Korean immigrant has developed such expertise in styling and weaving hair for African American women. This is her unique story.
In 1994, Miki inherited a wig shop from her sister in Flint, Michigan. As a licensed cosmetologist, she began cutting wigs for her clients and quickly gained a loyal following for her attention to detail and precision.
As Miki's reputation grew, her clients started asking her if she could do installs. Despite having no formal training in hair weaving, Miki was determined to learn how to do sew-ins. She spent countless hours practicing and perfecting her technique until she became the expert she is today.
With over 28 years of experience, Miki continues to innovate and push boundaries in the hair industry. She is passionate about her work and takes great pride in helping her clients feel beautiful and confident. Miki recognizes the unique position she holds as a non-African American hair stylist specializing in African American hair, and she approaches all her clients with respect and gratitude.

At the last minute, I had to scramble to find someone to do my daughter's weave at a reasonable price. We found Mink Weave Salon online. Called for availability; and an hour later, we were at the salon. I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't expect a Korean woman to be the one doing the sew-in. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of her work. The sew-in was not too tight, tracks spaced closely together and weave laid flat. She also did a nice job blending my daughter's natural hair. My only critique is she left the edges untouched. That was fine because my daughter knows how to slay her own edges. I was amazed that she finished in 1 hour 30 minutesš

The lady who owns the salon is so sweet and humble. The shop was impeccably clean, and she did my full sew-in in 2hours flat. The prices are on par for what a sew-in should cost(in my opinion) I've paid far more(unfortunately) for unprofessional stylists, unclean environments, and standard results.

I would go there again, for sure! They were a sweet family. The salon was clean. Iād recommend getting a shampoo! It was VERY relaxing. They arenāt very busy on Mondayās. She got me in and out even though I accidentally told her the wrong inch I wanted in the back. Smh. She nicely removed the part of the installation and redid it with a smile. Reasonably priced.

My appointment was at 12p.m. I was a little late considering I had to find the place -never driven to Brandywine before. I was home by 3:30.
