Eureka! When I moved to Colorado 2 1/2 years ago, I knew finding the perfect stylist to replace the one I left would be a difficult task. I had no idea how difficult. I was lucky to find someone I loved, but her 2 day work week and health issues made getting appointments and not having them canceled nearly impossible. I tried and failed several times to find a stylist that is the whole package.....passionate about hair, listen to the client, appointments available within a reasonable time frame, and best of all, crazy great skills with scissors! I'm so excited I've found Tanya at A Hot Mess Salon & Spa. She was ready for me when I arrived and her personality quickly put me at ease. She patiently looked at several photo ideas I'd brought and we discussed what I liked and disliked about them, what would or wouldn't work with my hair type, how much time I want to spend styling (none :-) ) and how much upkeep I want to devote to my hair. After she cut it, she styled it in a minimal way, showing me how it will look on a daily basis. Then she took it up a notch, showing me various ways of styling it. I kept saying "why has no one ever told me that?", about styling my hair. Tanya knows her stuff! She is on the U.S. Team for Hair Collections and travels the world to meet with other stylists, educators, etc. all for the love of hair! I absolutely love my cut & color and my hair feels great! I recommend her 110% with out hesitation!!!!!! She is amazing!!!! Thank you to all the previous Yelp reviewers who led me to her chair!!!!

I love Tanya. She took the time to discuss several options with me. Deep down I was prepared to do a color correction, but she came up with a solution that was both beautiful and economical. I'll definitely be back.

If you're looking for a sweet, super talented hair stylist, Tanya is your gal! I've had plenty of haircuts in my life, from the Groupon deal to a celebrity stylist, and what impressed me about Tanya was her uncanny ability to do the best haircut according to MY needs. She customized my haircut taking into account my head shape, my lifestyle, and just my general preferences. We worked TOGETHER on the haircut, and when you add her talent on top, you get a gorgeous hair cut. She even sent me a thoughtful email afterwards to make sure I liked the cut and offered to adjust anything I didn't like. That's service! I will stick to Tanya from now on. :)

Tanya is fabulous! I scheduled with her a Sugar Wax. When I made the appointment, her website gave me a space to write any comments, questions or concerns (which made me feel at ease). Giving her a heads up that it would be my first time. She was so nice and right away made me feel comfortable! During the wax, (I thought I was going to make her stop) she made me feel better even when I wanted to back out. But I kept telling myself that I had to go through it, the encouragement from Tanya definitely helped! Minutes after the wax, I was in NO PAIN whatsoever! I was completely satisfied with Tanya and the service. I do plan on coming back to her! I definitely recommend!!

Tanya is absolutely amazing. I have been going to her for my haircuts/colors/styles for the past seven years. I have followed her from salon to salon and now rightfully so she owns her own business. I have naturally curly hair and let me tell you she is an expert. If she can handle my thick unruly hair she can handle anyones. She is patient, a wonderful listener, and has always given me the style I have dreamt of. Even when it comes to color; she is always educated in the latest styles and hair-color providers-this lady knows what she is talking about. I have never left her chair disappointed. I cannot say enough about her. Now that I live several states away, I still make time to go home and schedule an appointment with her because she is the absolute best and the only person I trust with my hair. I recommend her above all others!!

I was referred to Tanya by a a friend and I would recommend her to all my friends and family. I wouldn't trust anyone else to do my hair as well as her. Her space is cozy and quiet which is a perfect getaway from loud crazy hair salons.
